Los hermanos de Rama, rigieron a su vez en distintas provincias. Laksmana tuvo dos hijos: Angada y Chandraketu, quienes gobernaron a su vez en las regiones cercanas al Himalaya. Barata obtuvo la provincia de Kekaya y el alto Sind. Sus dos hijos, Taksha y Puskara, conquistaron por su parte el reino de Gandara.
They had two sons - Angada and Chandraketu. When Lakshman went to exile along with Ram and Sita, Urmila was ready to accompany him but he hesitated and asked her to stay back in Ayodhya to take care of his aging parents. According to a legend Urmila sleeps continuously for 14 years.
Vasishtha consoled all. Rama brought up Kusa and Lava with love and affection. He destroyed the evil forces of Sindhudesa through Bharata. Bharata anointed his two children Daksha and Pushkala as kings in cities named after them. As instructed by Sri Rama, Lakshmana anointed his two sons Angada and Chandraketu as kings in the region of Karapada.
